Melba Marie Cormier Fontenot

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Melba Marie Cormier Fontenot, 67, who passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and continued at 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Sunday. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the Funeral Service. Readers were Mitzi Fontenot, Susan Addison and Dana Calais.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
For many years Melba enjoyed being a T-Ball coach for “Mills Pills” and a caregiver for Blake and Lance Dutile.
She is survived by her sons, Gene Fontenot and his wife Lisa, Jon Fontenot and his wife Mitzi, and Jared Fontenot; her daughter, Melissa Cormier; her step-daughters, Jackie Landry and her husband Timothy, and Sue Hebert and her husband Charlie; her brother, Don “Coyote” Cormier and his wife Sandra; her sister, Patsy Thibodeaux and her companion Ray Robin; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Joseph Fontenot; her son, Rodney “JoJo” Fontenot; her step-daughter, Janice Fontenot; her mother, Duella “Noon” Cormier; her father, Evans Cormier; and her sister, Judy Blanchard.
Pallbearers were Don “Coyote” Cormier, Skipper Thibodeaux, Gene Fontenot, Trey Cormier, Jared Fontenot and Jon Fontenot.
Honorary pallbearers were Troy Thibodeaux, T-Mark Thibodeaux, Peyton Fontenot, Gage Fontenot, Bailey Fontenot, Seth Fontenot, Reggie Fontenot and Brock Fontenot.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
