Lillian ‘La La’ or ‘Lee Lee’ Alexander Celestine

Funeral services were held at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. honoring the life of Lillian Celestine, 71, who passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. Pastor Carol Fontenot officiated her services.
Lillian “La La” or “Lee Lee” was born on July 27, 1942 in Breaux Bridge to the late Marshall Alexander and the late Melissa Batiste Alexander. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting and being in the company of people. Lillian loved helping people in any way she could. She also loved listening to spiritual and zydeco music. She was also an active member of the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church Mission until she was no longer able to participate due to her health.
Lillian is survived by two loving sons, Herbert Alexander (Jackie) of Crowley; Russell Celestine, Jr. (Rozena) of Jennings; four beautiful daughters, Peola Green (Boris) of Killeen, TX; Saprina Banks (Cornell) of Crowley; Russetta Celestine of Grovetown, Ga; Lillian Monique Young (Ronald) of Yokosuka, Japan; one brother, Ervin Alexander (Laura) of Breaux Bridge. Lillian also leaves behind to cherish her memories nineteen beautiful grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Marshall and Melissa Batiste Alexander, her loving son Derrick Mark Celestine, five sisters, Julia Mae Davis, Elizabeth Alexander Jones, Yola Mae Alexander Thomas, Ruby Alexander, Gustavia Alexander, and her twin Vivian Alexander; two brothers, Alton Paul Alexander and Vincent Alexander.
Viewing was on Saturday, July 26 at 8 a.m. until the time of her services at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. Burial will follow her service in Greenwood Cemetery, Jennings. A gathering of Family and Friends was held at the American Legion Hall, 111 North Market St. following her burial.
Carrying Lillian to her final resting place were Thomas Ruona, Calvin Celestine, Lorenz Simon, Tracy Jones, Carlton Richard, Jr., Damon Waltz, Ronald Young and Harrison Gabriel.
