Leander Martin Gedward Jr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Leander Martin Gedward Jr., 45, who passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Leander enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his daughter, Trinity. They both enjoyed going to the zoo together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Trinity Renee Gedward; his brother, Samuel Gedward; his paternal grandmother, Elsie Gedward; uncles, Arthur Gedward III, Daniel Pierre and Felix Pierre; and his aunts, Georgiana Bourda, Cynthia Jacquet, Aurila Worick, Shirley Hightower and Theresa Pierre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander Gedward Sr. and Mary Ann Pierre Gedward; paternal grandfather, Arthur Gedward Jr.; uncle, Clyde Gedward, Sr.; and cousin, Danny Paul Derouen II.
Pallbearers will be Dexter Ambrose, Marvin Ambrose Jr., Damarcus Jones, Marcus Calagon, Deshannon Randall and Brian Worick.
