Alfred enjoyed sight-seeing when taking a trip. A destination was not necessary, as long as he could get all his sight-seeing in for the day. He was a hard worker who loved providing for his family and all their needs. Herman was respected for his gift of up-lifting people and sharing his wisdom with everyone he met. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and the love of his life, his wife, Harriet. He always had a saying, “God helps those who help themselves.”
His family will continue to share this wonderful message with his grandchildren in hopes that they too, will share with their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Harriet Francis Anthony; his sons, Alfred Anthony of Youngsville and George Anthony of Abu Dhabi; his daughter, Cynthia Anthony of New Iberia; and his grandchildren, Roc Paul Boutte of New Iberia and Justice Anthony of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Husville and Gloria Thibodeaux Anthony; a son, Gregory Paul Anthony; and his sisters, Gloria Landry and Alberta Parker.
Pallbearers will be Roc Paul Boutte, Anthony, Ford, Alton, Landry, Jr., Lester Rochon, Ronald Lewis and Irvin Francis.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2115) is in charge of arrangements.
