Harold Paul Poirier

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday July 22, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Harold Paul Poirier, 68, who passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed from 10:30 am until 10:00 pm on Monday, July 21, 2014 and continued from 8:00 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 pm on Monday.
Rev. Michael Champagne officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Ann Theriot and Stasi Cordova. Gift Bearers were Duvvie Simon, Kiley DeRouen and Faye Guilbeau. Music was provided by Pat Melancon, Louisette Hulin and Liz Blanchard. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Harold was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his friends at Dave’s Texaco. He loved spending time with his family, but most especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, David Poirier and his wife, Lorrie; his daughter, Janine Flores and her husband, Jesse; his brother, Darrel Poirier and his wife, Dana; his sister, Shirley Champagne; and three grandchildren, Spencer Poirier, Coy Poirier and Zackary Flores.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Yola Champagne Poirier; and his brother-in-law, Frank Champagne.
Pallbearers were Coy Poirier, Spencer Poirier, Zackary Flores, Dave Theriot, Teddy Champagne and Jimmy Poirier.
Honorary Pallbearers were Roy Boudreaux, Jacques Poirier, Dustin Poirier, Mark Guirard, Mike Douet, Dale Champagne, Garrett Theriot, Jesse Flores and Phillip Poirier.
Harold’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana, Duvvie Simon, Kiley DeRouen, Faye Guilbeau, Dr. Gus Ingraldi and his staff for the care given to him during his time of need.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
