Evelyn Guidry Latiolais

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Evelyn Guidry Latiolais, 100, who passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Fr. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Will Lally and Phyllis Engeron. Gift bearers were Tina Engeron and Gwyn Engeron.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Evelyn was born October 2, 1917, to the late Caliste and Marie Dupuis Guidry. Prior to retirement and living in Breaux Bridge, Evelyn and her husband, Chester, also resided in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking for her family. She loved every moment spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Latiolais and wife Joyce, and Robert Joseph Latiolais and wife Jean; daughters, Gloria and husband Dr. O’Neil Engeron, and Phillis L. Lally; brother, Fred Guidry; sisters, Ramona Castex, Rusilla Salomone and Dorothy Courville; grandchildren, Dr. Eric Engeron, Karen Engeron Baker, Chuck Lally, Bobby Latiolais Jr., Brian Engeron, Billy Latiolais, Willis Lally and Mandy Latiolais Alanzo; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester H. Latiolais; brothers, Herband Guidry, Andrew Guidry, Orvy Guidry and Curtis Guidry; sisters, Solange Morris, Beatrice Grubbs and Bernice Guidry; and one grandchild, Michelle Latiolais Jarreau.
Pallbearers were Anthony Latiolais, Dr. Eric Engeron, Chuck Lally, Brian Engeron, Willis Lally and Mark Baker.
Honorary pallbearer was her brother, Fred Guidry.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
