Eva Johnson Fontenot

Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel for Eva Johnson Fontenot, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, and continued on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Fontenot was a native of Breaux Bridge and a graduate of Eunice High School. She worked as a hair stylist for five years, a bookkeeper for 11 years, and was a store associate/owner for six years. Eva loved to sewing, cooking, baking, and going camping. She enjoyed visiting with people and treasured the many times she spent with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine F. Begnaud and husband Pat of Abbeville, and Virginia F. Wolf and husband Ron of Maurice; two sons, Jimmie P. Fontenot and wife Sue of Lafayette, and Robert A. Fontenot and wife Dru of Breaux Bridge; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Nelson J. Fontenot; her parents, Angelous and Virginia Courville Johnson; three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Fontenot, Ronald Wolf, Patrick Begnaud, Blaine Johnson, Chad Johnson and Sammi Parbhoo.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
