Enola Edmond Ledet ‘Mom Tee-Ta’

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Enola “Mom Tee-Ta” Edmond Ledet, 87, who passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Keylon Ledet. Gift Bearers will be Blaire Jones, Ariel Ledet, and Jada Broussard. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Enola loved animals, her family says she was the “local animal shelter.” She enjoyed fishing, crocheting for grandchildren, sewing, and listening to Zydeco music. One of her favorite things to do was ride her scooter to Wal-Mart and Atlas Feed Mill. She loved sitting on her porch to talk or visit with anyone who passed by. Taking care of her garden, especially “watching her oranges” was her favorite pastime.
She is survived by four sons, Orel Ledet, Sr. and wife, Cordelia, Will Bradley Ledet and wife, Linda, Ernest Ledet, and Clayton Ledet and wife, Bobbie; three daughters, Linda Ledet Handy and husband, Freddie, Betty Ledet, and Mauricia Ledet Walters and husband, Raymond; her brother, Antoine Edmond; two sisters, Artamise Dugas and Mary Lou Edmond and husband, Jeffery; 28 grandchildren,, 30 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Agnes (Euphrasine) Batiste Edmond; her husband, Albert Douglas Ledet; an infant son, Shelton Ledet; her son Nathan Ledet; two sisters, Margaret Lee and Eula Logan; and four brothers, Earl, Byron, Felton, and Wilbert Edmond.
Pallbearers will be Reginald Ledet, Danrick Ledet, Chad Broussard, Nathan Lewis, Clayton Bossier, and Kendall LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers will be her sons, Orel Ledet, Jr., Bradley Ledet, Ernest D. Ledet and Clayton Ledet.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
