Elizabeth Tolliver Thibodeaux
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at St. Catherine Catholic Church for Elizabeth Tolliver Thibodeaux, 72, who passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Gina LeBlanc and Sherri Tolliver. Gift Bearers will be Marie Tolliver and Mary Calais.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Elizabeth was a parishioner of St. Catherine Catholic Church and enjoyed praying the Rosary in Creole. She loved listening to music, cooking, and sitting on her porch offering good advice to her grandchildren, in hope that they would use this advice as they grow older and perhaps become wiser. Elizabeth will often be remember for her quotes, “Don’t play with God!” and “Who’s right and who’s wrong?”
She is survived by her husband, Adolph Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge; her sons, Ronald Tolliver of Cecilia, Roley (Carol) Tolliver of Lake Charles, Marshall (Clarissa) Tolliver of St. Martinville, Murman (Jane) Tolliver of Lafayette and Marshall Lastrapes Jr. of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Tracie (Randy) Borel of Cecilia, Trisha (Ernest) Tolliver of Baton Rouge and Tasey (Vincent) Alexander of Arnaudville; her brother, Harold Tolliver of Breaux Bridge; her sisters, Georgia (Rogers) White of Breaux Bridge, Marie Tolliver of Arnaudville, Jennie Collins of Arnaudville, Priscilla Tolliver of Breaux Bridge and Mazella Demouchet of Lafayette;19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; her uncle, Arthur Calais; and two godchildren, Sandra Narcisse and Hazel Collins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Tolliver Sr. and Ezola Calais Tolliver; a daughter, Laura Broussard; her brothers, Ernest Tolliver, Richard Tolliver Jr., Rudolph Tolliver and Junius Tolliver; and her nephews, Troy Collins, and Ramsey and Hebert Demouchet.
Pallbearers will be Roley Tolliver, Marshall Tolliver, Murman Tolliver, Marshall Lastrapes Jr., Harold Tolliver, Murphy Tolliver, Donicho Caldwell and David Collins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Tolliver, Adolph Thibodeaux, Arthur Calais, Randy Borel, Randall Borel, Jamyric Herrin, Vincent Alexander, Ashton Cluse, Wilfred Cluse, Daniel Collins and Latrevian Wiltz.
