Edith Marie Castille Walden

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Edith Marie Walden, 63, who passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday, and continue Friday at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Rev. Steven Ugwu will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Scriptures will be read by Lacey and Kaila Broussard.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Edith enjoyed doing crafts, canning preserves, cooking, playing bingo, painting and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved her dogs; Spud, Chiko and Dodo who brought her joy and treated them like her children. She also loved and cared for Brandy’s four dogs as well.
She is survived by her loving companion of 21 years, Sam Hayslip of Breaux Bridge; brother, Robert “Bob” Castille and wife Carol of Dallas, Texas; sister, Jackie Berard and husband Jim of Breaux Bridge; and adopted daughter, Brandy Berard.
She was preceded in death by father, Sidney Lyon Castille; mother, Mildred Castille; sister, Betty Louviere; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Roberts; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fernand Castille; and her niece, Laila Louviere Broussard.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Jeanne Theriot for the care she provided during her life. Also to Sam, her companion, and those family members and close friends that remained by her side, during her time of illness.
Pallbearers will be Shenny Berard, Jerritt Louviere, Chrsi Castille, Robert Castille, Eric Castille and Delton “Tee” Touchet,
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Domingue, JayJay Louviere, Dustin Broussard, Ashley Dupry and Bailey Dupry
