Dorothy ‘Dot’ Broussard Laperouse

A Memorial Service will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at St. Martin De Tours Catholic Church for Dorothy Broussard Laperouse, 81, who passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Following the rosary at 10:30, Father Richard will conduct a memorial Mass to begin at 11a.m. Mrs. Laperouse’s grandchildren will take part in the reading of the scriptures and offering of the gifts.
Mrs. Laperouse has donated her body to the Bureau of Anatomical Services, specifically LSU Medical Center for Scientific Research, therefore there will be no interment. A social gathering will take place following the Mass at the church hall next door.
Dot was a member of St. Martin De Tours Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She spent countless hours at the Adoration Chapel which she thoroughly enjoyed. She volunteered at Petit Paris Museum and St. Martin Nursing Home. She spent much of her time saying the rosary and watching EWTN.
Mrs. Laperouse was a beautician and a devoted wife, mother, grandmothgrandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.
Survivors include her four children, Freddie Laperouse Jr. and his wife Rena Foti Laperoue, Becky Laperouse Trimble and her husband John, Bonnie Laperouse Thibodeaux and her husband Keith, and Mary Beth Laperouse Prince and her husband Ben. She is also survived by one sister, Janet Broussard Segura of Lafayette; three brothers, Allen Broussard and his wife Barbara of Loreauville, Ernest Broussard of Loreauville and Larry Broussard of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren, Bert Laperouse, Bryan Laperouse, Wendi Alcala, Jenny Trimble, Bethany Babineaux, Seth Thibodeaux, Gavin Thibodeaux, Kailey Thibodeaux, Spencer Thibodeaux, Carli Angelle and Collin Thibodeaux; as well as seven great-grandchildren, with the eighth one on the way.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Freddie Laperouse Sr.; her son, Bert Laperouse; her father, Naulis Broussard; and her mother, Emerite Broussard.
