Chester Thibodeaux Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Chester Thibodeaux Sr., 83, who passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert.
Rev. David Broussard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Keisha Savoy and Brandi Cole. Gift Bearers were Brenda Thibodeaux, Vickie Courville and Gwendolyn Bouquet. Music was provided by Pat Menard and Beth Hebert.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Chester retired from Cargill after 44 years as an Electrician. He was an avid hunter and softball player. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son, C. J. Thibodeaux; his daughters, Deborah Savoy and her husband Bob, Donna Dupuis and Ellen Ellington and her husband William; his step-daughters, Dianne Latiolais and Bonnie Latiolais and her husband Rick; his brothers, Ronnie Thibodeaux and his wife Betty, and Terry Thibodeaux and his wife Stephanie; seven grandchildren, Keisha Savoy, Chad Dupuis, Christopher Dupuis, Colin Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux, Brandi Cole and Brandon Ellington; five step-grandchildren, Gary Latiolais, Maria Hanes, Kristi LeBlanc, Karen Sonnier and Scotty Latiolais; six great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Bouquet, Gavin Bouquet, Corrine Thibodeaux, Ruby Thibodeaux, A. J. Dupuis and Brayden Cole; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dieu Donne Thibodeaux; his mother, Helen Hebert Thibodeaux; his first wife, Jeanne Martin Thibodeaux, second wife, Darlene Barrios Thibodeaux, and third wife, Norma Gravouia Thibodeaux; and his brother, Harry Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Chad Dupuis, Christopher Dupuis, Colin Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux, Ronnie Thibodeaux and Terry Thibodeaux.
Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Ellington, Tyler Courville, Jason Knott, Aaron Knott, Terry Quebedeaux and William Ellington.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
