Betty Solari Trail

St. Martinville – A Memorial Mass was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Betty Solari Trail, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at her residence.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard officiated at the Memorial Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Betty enjoyed playing Bridge and golf, maintaining her beautiful yard, cooking, and visiting her family and friends, especially those who needed her love and support. Her favorite time of year was family gatherings on Christmas Eve, where she would prepare everyone’s favorite meal, her delicious seafood gumbo and pecan pies.
Betty worked for St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for many years as a secretary and with the St. Martin Parish School Board. She loved her God and would spend many hours in the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration reflecting in prayer.
She is survived by her sons, Jack Trail Jr. and wife Sue Ellen of St. Martinville and Tommy Trail of Church Point; her daughters, Melanie T. Barfuss and husband Bevin of Houston, Texas, and Sheri T. Guidry and husband Kevin of St. Martinville; her sisters, Mattie Barras and husband Gary of St. Martinville, and Dot Finch of Angleton, Texas; her grandchildren, Denise T. Lessert, Katherine T. Freeman, Lindsey Trail, Tye Trail, Tiffany T. Mesko, Tancie Trail, Stacey Lavelle, Spencer Barfuss, Zachary Barfuss, Grant Barfuss, Jené Bertrand Jeanmarie, Tyler Bertrand, Caleb Guidry and Victoria Guidry; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Celine Roy Solari; her husband, Jack Trail Sr.; her brother, Larry Solari; and her sister, Lois Parro.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent for Masses, in her name, to St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, P.O. Box 10, St. Martinville, LA 70582, or to a charity of your choice.
