Bernadette Dugas Courville

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Bernadette Dugas Courville, 95, who passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Dion Hall in Catahoula. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Becky Giroir and Karen Olivier. Gift Bearers were Loretta Judice and Sandy Theriot.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Mrs. Courville was a parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. A devout Catholic, she loved praying her Rosary and offering intentions for those in need. As a pastime she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, playing Pokeno, and going dancing. She cherished moments spent with family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three daughters, Elaine (Paul) Darby, Gladys (Halphen “Buddy”) Broussard and Mae (Roland) Talley, all of St. Martinville; two sons, Aldus (Hazel ) Courville of St. Martinville and Clarence (Judy ) Courville of Laporte, Texas; six sisters, Laurence Latiolais, Elsie (Charles) Blanchard, Anna Mae (Roy) Blanchardm and Lorena Dugas, all of St. Martinville, Linda (Charles) Rader of Cypremort Point and Peggy (Keith) Randazzo of Lake Peigneur; her brother, Aldus (Charlene) Dugas of St. Martinville; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ozema Courville; her parents, Aldus and Edolia Noel Dugas; three sisters, Mabel Bourque, Antonia Bourque and Edmonia Borel; and two brothers, Alvin and Daniel Dugas.
Pallbearers were members of her family.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
