Barbara Ann Dugas

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Barbara Ann Dugas, 80, who passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday.
Pastor Robert Lyons officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed going to the casino and gambling. She loved giving attention to and caring for all her animals. Barbara, most of all, enjoyed being with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Nathan Melancon (Lou), Patrick Melancon (Connie), Lawrence Melancon (Theresa), Leland Melancon (Deana) and Isaac Dore; daughters, Rita LeBlanc, Amanda Melancon (Betty), Christine Melancon and Samantha Dore (Perry); 20 grandchildren, 41 great -grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on-the-way; and her sisters, Betty Dugas and Shelia Purkey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bennett Dugas; mother, Rita Darby; son, Darryl Melancon; and her companion, Chester Trosclair.
Pallbearers were James Melancon, Jake Melancon, Bryce Melancon, Darryl Melancon, Jr., Lawrence Melancon III and Isaac Dore.
Honorary pallbearers were Edwin LeBlanc III and Nathan Melancon Jr.
The family would like to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice for the love and care given to Barbara in her time of need.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
