Alvin P. ‘Nat’ Hebert

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Alvin Paul “Nat” Hebert, 69, who passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Fr. Keenan Brown officiated at the funeral service. Entombment followrf at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville.
Alvin, better known to his family, friends, and many followers as “Nat,” was a musician for 35 years and the founding member of the band, “Alvin and the Memories.” He loved playing the guitar and entertaining his family and friends while camping. He also devoted a lot of his time playing music for benefits to help those in need. “Nat” was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Guilbeau Hebert; his son, Randy James Hebert and his wife Sandy; two daughters, Amy Elizabeth Fernandez and her husband David, and Kimberly Ann Broussard and her husband Jonathan; two brothers, Herbert Hebert and Melvin Hebert; two sisters, Annie Rose Meche and Jane Alice Bernard; and eight grandchildren, Sydney Hebert, Lauren Hebert, Camille Broussard, Evelyn Broussard, Presli Broussard, Bryson Fernandez, Brandon Fernandez and Gavin Fernandez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clopha and Angela Begnaud Hebert; his brother-in-law, Dennis Meche; and a niece, Melinda Meche.
Pallbearers were Randy James Hebert, Herbert Hebert, Melvin Hebert, Jonathan Broussard, David Fernandez and Danny Courville.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Meche, Jerry Meche, Neil Hebert, Joey Hebert, Kevin Hebert, Benji Hebert, Brandon Hebert and T.J. Bernard.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville was in charge of arrangements.
