Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Adam Ray Rider, 27, who passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday by Fr. Neil Pettit.
Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Virginia Champagne and Devin LeBlanc. Gift bearers were Russell LeBlanc and Edna Melancon.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Adam was a graduate of Cecilia High School – Class of 2008, where he was involved in athletics and 4-H. After graduation, he began working in the oilfield for the past eight years. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and duck hunting. Adam never met a stranger – his contagious smile would light up a room. He had a wonderful life with his wife and precious little girl. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Broussard Rider; his daughter, Aria Rae Rider; his parents, Marvin and Kim LeBlanc Rider; his sister, Robin Cormier and husband Kalyn; his godchild, Aynsli Guilbeau; nieces, Emarie Cormier and baby girl Audrey Cormier; maternal grandparents, Dudley and Doris LeBlanc; in-laws, Jay and Madeline Broussard; and his brother-in-law, Brice Broussard and companion, Jessi Ezernack.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, C.L. and Leander Rider; and an uncle, Joseph Ray Rider.
Pallbearers were Oswald Rebert, Brennan Lagrange, Garrett Knott, Jeremy Guilbeau, Brice Broussard, Daniel Dillard, Kalyn Cormier and Colby Burghdoff.
Honorary pallbearers were Mory Vitte, Chase Gravouilla, Nick LeBlanc, Collin Menard, Logan LeBlanc, Devin LeBlanc, Kyle Angelle, Luke Boyer, Ty Guidry, Trey Guidry, Devin White, Chris LeBlanc and Ben and Chris Berard.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
