Leus Joseph Hebert Sr.

Coteau Holmes – A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted for Mr. Leus Joseph Hebert Sr., 80, at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter and Fr. Joe officiating. Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday with a Rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral home reopened at 8 a.m. on Monday until service time.
A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of Coteau Holmes, Mr. Hebert passed away at 6:27 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Hebert enjoyed being outdoors, cutting grass working in his yard and tending to his garden. He was a very kind man who loved cooking, baking and making wine for his family and friends. He also enjoyed his weekly card games with his siblings and friends.
He leaves behind a wonderful legacy and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Leus Hebert Jr. and wife Jennifer of St. Martinville; daughters, Dorrie Bourque and husband Merlin Bourque Jr. of Victoria, Texas, and Barbara Hebert Dupuis and husband Dwayne of St. Martinville; six grandchildren, Ryan Hebert, Ashley Hebert, Kimberly Dupuis, Kourtney Dupuis, Arielle Hebert and Madison Bourque; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Hebert of Arnaudville and Bernard Hebert of Loreauville; and three sisters, Mary Hebert of Loreauville and Celestine Hebert and Maria Hebert, both of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Audrey Bonin Hebert; his parents, Ernest and Marie Sonnier Hebert; one sister, Stephanie Hebert; and four brothers, Elvis Hebert, Wilson Hebert, Pierre Hebert and Alexson Hebert.
Pallbearers were Leus Hebert Jr., Dwayne Dupuis, Merlin Bourque, Ryan Hebert, Larry Escagne and Nicholas Bonin Jr.
Al John Dore, Dan Smith, Isaac Boudreaux, Genevieve Dore, Gillian Boudreaux and Bill Granger served as honorary pallbearers.
