Anthony ‘Tannie’ Alex
Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Anthony “Tannie” Alex, 79, who passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary was prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Fr. Joseph Campion officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Brianna Jade Alex and Mandy Celestine.
Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Alex used to do horse training and racing for many years; being in that environment gave him a sense of peace in his soul. He enjoyed eating and being surrounded by family. He will be remembered for that unique quality of giving and helping anyone in time of need.
He is survived by his sons, Michael A. Alex and wife Belinda of Brownsville, Texas, David F. Alex and wife Mary of Breaux Bridge, and Kenneth L. Alex of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Pamela A. Alex of Lafayette; brothers, Harold Alex of Arnaudville and John Alex and wife Mary Lou of Breaux Bridge; sister, Paula Chevalier of Breaux Bridge; and grandchildren, Brittany Alex, Keon Alex, Eric Davidson and Brianna J. Alex.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Celestine Alex; his parents, Arthur and Octavia Derousselle Alex; and his siblings, Eva Enard, Beulah Cormier, Evelyn Goody, Hilda Broussard and Harry Alex.
Pallbearers were Michael A. Alex, David F. Alex, Kenneth L. Alex, Keon Alex, Eric Davidson and Clarence Broussard.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, was in charge of arrangements.
