Corinne was a member of The Widows of the Teche. She enjoyed cooking, baking, yard work, attending her weekly Masses at St. Joseph, and caring for her family, who she loved unconditionally. She was meticulous about how she dressed; her shoes had to match her outfit and each attire she wore made a statement. Each family member has a blanket crocheted by Ms. Corrine. Corinne will be remembered for that contagious smile, the kindness in her eyes and her homemade Pecan Pie that brought joy to everyone.
She is survived by her son, Richard C. (Geraldine) Calais of Lady Lake, Fla.; her daughters, Judy A. Calais of Metairie, Cynthia C. (Brian) Anthony of Milford, Ohio, and Cheryl C. (Gerald) LeGrand of Breaux Bridge; her sister-in-law, Alice H. Richard of Opelousas; seven grandchildren, Russell J. Anthony of Milford, Ohio, Simon T. Anthony of Milford, Ohio, Paige C. (Michael) Roundtree of Covington, April C. Laflamme of Readington, N.J., Wm. Justin Broussard of Lafayette, Gerald (Kelly) LeGrand Jr. and Christy (Robley) Picard, all of Breaux Bridge; and seven great-grandchildren, Evan J. Roundtree of Baton Rouge, Averi E. Roundtree of Covington, Jacques Laflamme of Readington, N.J., Philippe Laflamme of Readington, N.J., and Kaitlyn Picard, Lexi LeGrand and Landon LeGrand, all of Breaux Bridge.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Calais; a great-grandson, Jace LeGrand; her brothers, Allen and Albert Richard; her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Louis Hidalgo; her parents, Leonce Joseph Richard and Aline Blanchard Richard; and her longtime companion, Bennet Tally.
Pallbearers were Russell Anthony, Simon Anthony, Evan Roundtree, Justin Broussard, Gerald LeGrand Jr. and Robley P. Picard.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Rebecca LeBlanc, who administered Holy Communion to her every week; Hospice of Acadiana, in particular Debra Cormier, her nurse, and Brittny, who provided her personal care; and Concepts of Care, for providing her with compassionate care and attention during her time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
