Olga Segura Greig
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Olga Segura Greig, 98, who passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday. A Rosary was prayed at 9 a.m. on Monday.
Fr. Ed Degeyter officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Greig loved her garden, cooking and baking – she was known for making the best Lemon Meringue pies. She loved to drive her 1980 Ford Fairmont. Mrs. Greig treasured the times spent visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Errol Greig and wife Sue, and Eddy Greig; her daughter, Etta Lasseigne; her brother, Robert Segura; her sister, Mildred S. Landry; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Greig, Jennifer Greig, Natalie Greig, Joey Lasseigne, Alicia Poirier, Amelia Horn, Alyson Evans, Errol Greig Jr., Ellen Veazey and Albert Greig; 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmo “Bib” Greig; her daughter, Edmae Greig; her parents, Robin and Elise Stansbury Segura; her brothers, Lee, Clet, Henry, Orphie, Lloyd and Allen Segura; and her sisters, Mable Segura, Vernice S. Babineaux, Enola Segura and Alma S. Stroud.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Greig, Joey Lasseigne, Mickey Poirier, Glenn Ray Evans, Luke Horn Sr. and Joel Horn.
Honorary pallbearers were Errol and Eddy Greig.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
