Geneva G. Matthews

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Oct. 6, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Geneva Gabriel Matthews, 85, who passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014.
Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Harrison Gabriel, Darrell Gabriel and Cleveland Gabriel Jr.; four daughters, Rebecca Wiltz, Annie Matthews, Jenita Roberts and Mrs. Clifton (Jeanetta) Matthews; 26 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Matthews Sr.; one son, Donald R. Matthews; two brothers, John and Memphis George Gabriel; four sisters, Lou Della Alexander, Mary Davis, Carrie Gabriel and Melissa Gabriel; and a great-grandchild.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
