Mary Champagne Hergruder

Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Morris Hergruder Jr., the former Mary Champagne, 76, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Champagne officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday until service time.
A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of Catahoula, Mrs. Herguder passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
Mrs. Hergruder loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed dancing.
Mrs. Hergruder is survived by her children, Glenda H. Bonin of St. Martinville, Laura H. Deville and husband Pete of Walker, David J. Hergruder Sr. and wife Judy of Watson, Sherry H. Judd and husband Steve of Wiggins, Miss., Yvonne Stelly and husband Harris of Watson, and Jeanette Eddy and husband Darryl of Henderson; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley C. Wright and Madeline C. Blanchet, both of St. Martinville; and five brothers, Wilfred Champagne of New Iberia, Andrew Champagne and wife Lola, Joseph Champagne and wife Flo and Larry Champagne and wife Terrie, all of St. Martinville, and Johnny Champagne and wife Sandra of Breaux Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Hergruder Jr.; one daughter, Linda Daigle; parents, Frank and Madeline Douet Champagne; and three brothers, Henry Champagne, Anthony Champagne and Frank Champagne Jr.
Pallbearers will be Travis Bonin, David James Hergruder Jr., Mike Judd, J.D. Judd, Johnny Champagne and Joseph Champagne. Wilfred Champagne, Andrew Champagne and Larry Champagne will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
