Carrie Guidroz
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Carrie Guidroz “Laurey” Angelle, 82, who passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014, and continued on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary was recited by Deacon Ken Soignier at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Michael Delcambre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Maddison Knott and Caleb Degeyter. Gift Bearers were Stephanie Legendre, Lesi Angelle Hayden Degeyter, Monique Degeyter, Kade Legendre and Jaimee Knott.
Entombment followed at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.
Ms. Carrie was known by many as Ms. Laurey. She was a member of Widows of the Teche for many years. She was a caretaker, while enjoying cooking, cleaning, planting flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Michael Angelle and his wife Marcia of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, June Degeyter and her husband Lannie of Eunice and Catherine Knott and her husband Francis of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Shane Degeyter, Christopher Knott, Stephanie Legendre and Lesi Angelle; and her great-grandchildren, Maddison Knott, Caleb Degeyter, Hayden Degeyter, Kade Legendre and Kyndall Legendre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurey Angelle; her grandson, Cody Angelle; her father, Dutile Guidroz and her mother, Azire L. Guidroz; her brothers, Jessie Guidroz, Edmond Guidroz, Joseph “Boy” Guidroz, Herman Guidroz and Francis Guidroz; and her sisters, Vivian G. Leblanc, Grace G. Richard, Jesslyn G. Stelly and Noelie G. Sanders.
Pallbearers were Lannie Degeyter, Francis Knott, Chris Knott, Eric Legendre, Shane Degeyter, Brian Gibson and Kiddie Richard.
Honorary pallbearers were David Stelly, Tommy Gibson, River Gibson, Ellis Richard and Dale Degeyter.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
