Rosalind Patin Thibodeaux

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Rosalind Patin Thibodeaux, 71, who died peacefully in her home on August 30, 2014.
Internment was at Calvary Cemetery.
Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, was the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services. Lectors were Nicole Guilbeau LeBouef and Teryn Burley Thibodeaux. Gift bearers werbe Landon LeBouef, Elise LeBouef and Misty Patin LeBouef. Eulogy was read by granddaughters Kylie Thibodeaux Morgan and Brianne Thibodeaux. Musical selections were “Amazing Grace,” “Isaiah 49,” “On Eagles’ Wings,” and “Be Not Afraid.”
Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, Raymond Thibodeaux of Lafayette; her children, Fay Thibodeaux LeBouef and her husband Kerry, Dwayne Thibodeaux, Chad Thibodeaux and his wife Jennifer Gibbs, Kristie Thibodeaux Frederick and her husband Chad; daughter-in-law, Lisa Albert Thibodeaux; eight grandchildren, Jeremy LeBouef, Corey Thibodeaux, Justin LeBouef, Kylie Thibodeaux Morgan, Brianne Thibo-deaux, Austin Frederick, Seth Thibodeaux and Lance Thibodeaux; six great-grandchildren, Chandler LeBouef, Landon LeBouef, Elise LeBouef, Jett LeBouef, Cye Thibodeaux and Che Thibodeaux; and her beloved pet “Chloe.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney and Vivian Calais Patin; her son, Dale Thibodeaux; her siblings, Billy Patin and Suzanne Patin Guidry; and her daughter-in-law, Chris Vidrine Thibodeaux.
Rosalind Patin Thibodeaux, known to her grandchildren as “Granny Coco,” was born on February 15, 1943, in Cecilia, Louisiana, and was a resident of Lafayette. Rosalind was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She adored her five children and looked forward to cooking every Wednesday night for her family. Listening to Cajun music, watching TV game shows, and completing crossword puzzles were some of her favorite hobbies. She was a devout Catholic and prayed her rosary daily. She will forever be remembered by her vast amount of strength, abundant faith, and selflessness towards others.
Pallbearers were Chad Thibodeaux, Jeremy LeBouef, Corey Thibodeaux, Justin LeBouef, Austin Frederick and Chandler LeBouef. Honorary Pallbearers were Dwayne Thibodeaux, Kerry LeBouef, Chad Frederick, Scott Morgan and Jesse White.
A Rosary was prayed by Brianne Thibodeaux and Chaplain Francis Fontenot on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 6 p.m.
Visitation wa observed in Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Monday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continued on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
