Elsie Camille Latiolais

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Elsie Camille Latiolais, 89, who passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continued at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Dion Hall in Catahoula. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Myra Guidry.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Mrs. Latiolais enjoyed reading and cooking, and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn L. Romero and her husband Gilbert Sr., and Jackie L. Guidry and her husband Donald; two brothers, Wilson Camille and James Camille and his wife Vernice; five grandchildren, Gilbert Romero Jr., Ryan Guidry, Colby Guidry, Joshua Melancon, and Naomi M. Soileau; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Latiolais; her daughter, Phyllis L. Melancon; a grandson, Jaime P. Romero; her parents, Henry and Elvina Duplechin Camille; two brothers, Walter and Johnny Camille; and her sister, Essie C. Barras.
Pallbearers were Donald Guidry, Gilbert Romero Sr., Ryan Guidry, Gilbert Romero, Jr., Joshua Melancon and Colby Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilson Camille, James Camille, James Soileau and Naomi M. Soileau.
