Cecilia robbery suspect already in jail

On Monday, July 28, detectives with the St. Martin Sheriff’s office added armed robbery to the charges pending against a 23-year-old Cecilia man accused of robbing a store at gunpoint.
A lone gunman, captured on the store’s security cameras, stalked through the Dollar General on Cecilia Senior High School Highway back on July 15.
The male subject was armed with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register.
Investigators Monday identified the suspect as Jacob James Joseph, 23, of Cecilia.
Joseph was arrested on July 18 for failure to appear in court on unrelated charges.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and was still incarcerated at the time detectives identified him as the suspect in the Dollar General robbery.
