Another murder mystery?
Persons with loved ones missing will be anxiously awaiting the results of testing by LSU’s famed FACES lab of possible human remains found off a lonely stretch of road near here.
Someone on foot made the gristly find around 2 p.m. Friday, July 4, in a rural area off Lelan Road south of Henderson.
According to the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office, it appears that the remains were there for an extended period of time.
Persons missing include Crystal Dupuis Grebinger, 32, of the Grand Anse area, who went missing in Lafayette on Feb. 8, 2013.
Also 17-year-old Keiosha Felix, who has been missing from the Lafayette area since April 30, 2012.
Investigators recovered the remains for delivery to the Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory at Louisiana State University.
In addition its role in teaching forensic anthropology to criminal justice students and law enforcement personnel, and conducting research in the field, the FACES lab assists law enforcement agencies with the identification of human remains.
