Police in search of Dillard

The Abbeville Police Department is searching for a man they think robbed Meaux’s Grocery Store at the end of Decemeber.

Nicholas Dillard of Abbeville was expected to turn himself in this past Monday after Dect. Stan Suire talked to him and his father on the phone. Dillard, 19, never showed.

Now the police department is asking the public if anyone knows the whereabouts of Dillard, who is believed to be the person who was holding a rifle used in the robbery.

Suire said Dillard was with two friends during the robbery. and got away with less than $100.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Dillard, call the police department (893-2551) and ask for Suire.

It was the first time that Meaux’s Grocery was ever been robbed at gun point.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

The three robbers were caught on video camera. They each wore a mask and a hood on their heads.

Suire said he spoke to friends about Dillard but none of them knew his whereabouts.

Suire was unsure if Dillard committed the other armed robbery at OUPAC days earlier.
