Guy Cormier to lead state Police Jury Association
On Wednesday, Jan. 13, Guy Cormier of St. Martin Parish was sworn in as the new Police Jury Association of Louisiana president at the PJAL Newly Elected Officials Event.
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry made a special trip to the Crowne Plaza, where the event was held to officially swear in Cormier.
Cormier, St. Martin Parish president, has been on the PJAL Executive Board for eight years.
“President Cormier has played a vital role not only in our leadership but as a strong legislative advocate for parish government,” said PJAL Executive Director Roland Dartez.
Dartez noted that Cormier will also sit on the National Executive Board of the National Association of Counties representing all 64 parish governments.
In his new role, Cormier presided over the orientation of over 200 newly elected parish officials.
