Mary Alice Webb Mills

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Mary Alice Webb Mills, 85, who passed away on, Sunday, December 29, 2013, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Allen Breaux officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Whitney and Ainsley Mills. Gift Bearers were Pam Webb Abshire and Liz Webb Pavy.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Mrs. Mills was a graduate of Spencer Business College. She later met and married the love of her life, Fred H. Mills Sr. Before retiring, she and her husband worked side-by-side for decades owning and operating Henry J. Mills Company.
Mary Alice was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Paul #1434 and the Pink Ladies at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge for numerous years.
She lived life to the fullest and loved her family dearly. Mary Alice loved meeting people, always offering kind words and her gentle smile.
She is survived by two sons, Fred H. Mills Jr. and his wife Debbie of Breaux Bridge, and Henry J. “Hank” Mills II and his wife Shawn of Baton Rouge; and four grandchildren, Kelly Mills, Keegan Mills, Whitney Mills and Ainsley Mills.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Mills Sr.; her parents, Leonce and Alfreda Newman Webb; and her brother, Aldon Webb.
Pallbearers were Fred H. Mills Jr., Henry J. “Hank” Mills II, Kelly Mills, Keegan Mills, Dr. Warren Degatur and Chris Angelle.
The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Warren Degatur, Wendy Fuselier, Karen McFaul, and the entire staff of St. Martin Hospital, as well as to Roxanne Theriot and all the sitters who cared for her over the years.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
