Turkey Cook-off Dec. 13

Roman’s Wings of Hope will hold its first Turkey Cook-off Saturday, Dec. 13, at Pioneer Acadian Village RV Park, 296 Degeyter Rd., Breaux Bridge.
Proceeds will go toward providing a “cuddle cot” at Lafayette’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Roman’s Wings of Hope is a non-profit organization assisting families financially with grief counseling after the loss of a child.
The Turkey Cook-off is planned as an annual event.
Rules:
•All turkeys must be checked in the day of the event in the original wrapper and can not be pre-stuffed, seasoned or injected.
• Turkeys can be deep fried, grilled, trashcan style, boiled or Cajun microwaved but must be cooked on grounds.
•Turkeys to be prepped and cooked turkeys from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•Judging will be 1-1:30 p.m. with open sampling at 1:30 p.m.
•Awards presentation at 2:30 p.m.
