St. Martin schools closed Friday

In an abundance of caution, St. Martin Parish schools will be closed Friday due to inclement weather.

Forecasters are calling for the possibility of a "light dusting" of snow overnight between Thursday and Friday with sleet or freezing rain possible as early as around 10:00 p.m.

The forecast calls of a low of 27 degrees tonight with Friday's high around 36 degrees.

The closure mirrors actions taken by school districts all throughout south Louisiana.
