Henri C. Bienvenu

The St. Martin Parish school district received a C rating in the District Performance Scores (DPS) released last week by the state Department of Education for the 2014-15 school session, falling from B in 2013-14.
The actual numerical score slipped from 85.7 in 2013-14 to 84.2 for 2014-15.
St. Martin and St. Landry were the only two parishes in the Acadiana area with C scores; all others earned B grades.

Parks Middle improved from C the year before.
St. Martinville Jr. High was the parish’s only school with a D grade.
Breaux Bridge Jr. High, Breaux Bridge Elementary, Early Learning Center and St. Martinville Primary all improved from D to C, while Breaux Bridge Primary and St. Martinville Sr. High slipped from B to C.
