Remains found at Henderson came from graves

Remains found near Henderson on July 4 are from an adult male and female and probably came from disturbed graves, according to the St. Martin Sheriff's Office.
There was no information provided that linked the remains to any current missing persons in St. Martin Parish, SMSO reported.
The LSU Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory in Baton Rouge determined that the remains had previously been buried for more than 10 years.
SMSO detectives are trying to determine how the remains got to the location where they were discovered.
At the time of the discovery, it appeared to detectives that the remains had probably been unearthed and exposed for an extended period of time, SMSO reports.
SMSO was alerted to the discovery in a 911 call from a pedestrian on Leland Road south of Henderson.
