Parish grads get diplomas today

Commencement exercises for graduates of St. Martin Parish’s three public high schools are set for 6 p.m. Friday in each school’s gymnasium.
School officials expect 475 students, including special education and those receiving skills option certificates, GED and certificates of achievement, to participate in the graduation ceremonies. The total includes 168 at Breaux Bridge High, 159 at Cecilia High and 148 at St. Martinville Sr. High.

BREAUX BRIDGE
Five students share valedictorian honors at Breaux Bridge High this year.
The top graduates, all with 4.0 GPAs, are Lyndsy Caillier, daughter of Kevin and Dawn Caillier; Tayler Gary, daughter of Christopher and Brandy Celestine; Amy Ho, daughter of Steven and Tammy Ho; Callie LeBlanc, daughter of Kim Thomas and Robert LeBlanc; and Cassidy Melancon, daughter of Brit and Nicole Melancon.
Salutatorians, all with 3.9 GPAs, are Dalaney Dumatrait, daughter of Chad and Connie Dumatrait; Maison Hayes, son of Kody and Tanya Courville an Shelton Hayes; Kaitlyn Lalonde, daughter of Keith and Jennifer Hayes; Alex Lear, son of Robert and Lucinda Lear; and Hannah Mouton, daughter of Clinton Mouton and the late Amy Capritto Mouton.
Dr. Lottie Beebe, superintendent of parish schools, will present the diplomas.

CECILIA
Eight students at Cecilia High School have completed their high school studies with 4.188 GPAs in the honors curriculum and are tied for valedictory honors.
They are Ian G. Andrepont, son of Albert and Meagan Andrepont and Silvia Fajardo; Alayna R. Begnaud, daughter of Terry and Jennifer Begnaud; Jonathan A. Fackler, son of Charles and Angela Watson; Jonathan J. Johnson, son of Ted and Patricia Johnson; Kaitlyn M. Kidder, daughter of Phillip and Annette Kidder; Ali M. Noel, daughter of Francis and Elise Noel; Sabrina A. Scriber, daughter of William Scriber and Erica LeBlanc; and Jeremy J. Wiltz, son of Joseph and Mary Wiltz.
Salutatorian, with a 4.156 GPA, is Madison C. Guidry, daughter of Chris and Lea Guidry.
Kara Meaux, director of federal programs, will be awarding diplomas.

ST. MARTINVILLE
Dr. Gail Dalcourt, director of curriculum and instruction, and school principal Michael Kreamer will confer diplomas at SMSH.
Earning valedictory honors with a 4.0625 GPA are Harlee M. Courville, daughter of Hugh and Anne Courville; Alli R. Douet, daughter of Karl and Tyna Douet; and Vanel B. Porter, daughter of Mary Bourda and Brian Porter.
Sharing salutatorian honors, each with a 44.03125 GPA, are Allie M. Champagne, daughter of Scott and Darnell Champagne; William A. Morrison, son of Sheila Morrison; and Kristen K. Theriot, daughter of Mercury and Susan Theriot.
