Meeting next Thursday, Nov. 19, on Henderson roundabouts

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is holding a public meeting here Thursday, Nov. 19, on its proposal to widen Interstate 10 from the Henderson Exit (La. 347) east to the Atchafalaya Floodway Bridge.
The proposed project would include installing roundabouts at the intersections of the I-10 ramps and La. 347, north and south, and “access changes at the La. 347 and La. 352 signalized intersection.”
In addition to widening the roadway to three lanes going and coming, the state will repave the existing the lanes and installing median barriers.
“The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the project and to obtain input from interested parties,” states the DOTD news release.
There will be a continuous multi-media presentation about the project and representatives from DOTD will be on hand to answer questions.
The public can submit verbal and written comments on the project at the meeting.
The meeting will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Henderson Recreational Building, 1015 Park Ave.
Comments can also be mailed to DOTD if postmarked by Dec. 2. Mail to:
