Le Feu et l’Eau Rural Arts Celebration heats up

Within the pool of spring festivals, the Arnaudville Fire and Water celebration shape shifts between house party and family gathering. Here you meet and become friends with the artists, musicians and artisans for who the celebration seeks to support.
Following the Semaine Francaise d’Arnaudville creative placemaking summit, Le Feu et l’Eau welcomes international participation this year with a performance by Haitian musician Jean Jean Roosevelt (jeanjeanroosevelt), and a Sunday open jam with the members of Festival International guest Lo’Jo. (Links: lo'jo, Kuwait interview).
In addition, merchants within Arnaudville host a special evening of downtown celebration and bayou luminaries. This extension in celebration location marks the return of Le Feu and l’Eau to the banks of bayous Teche and Fuselier.
Be sure to start at the beginning with participation in the 7 pm, Friday, April 15 Potluck social. Cost is contribution to the communal table. Come early and meet our blacksmiths, and line dance with the master, Byron Boudreaux. Then, stop by throughout the next two days, April 16-17, for participation in any of the many free performances and events. (Le Feu et l’Eau is supported by CODOFIL, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.)
