Festival of Mercy in St. Martinville April 3

A Festival of Mercy honoring Mother Teresa, the Saint of Mercy, will be held on the banks of Bayou Teche in St. Martinville on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Featured speakers will be Kellie Comeaux, RN, speaking on “The Jubilee of Mercy”; the Rev. Michael Champagne, Community of Jesus Crucified, St. Martinville, who will address “The Spirituality of Mother Teresa”; and remembrances by the Rev. Angelo Scolozzi, a coworker and friend of Mother Teresa for over 21 years.
The day will include praise in song from the Immaculate Heart of Mercy Gospel Choir as well as Bayou Mercy Praise and Worship Band. An outdoor Mass will be held at the Hour of Mercy, 3 p.m. Confessions will be available throughout the day.
The exclusive Mother Teresa Expo from the Beatification will be available for viewing throughout the day in Trinity gymnasium and rare relics of Mother Teresa will be on hand for veneration in Mater Dolorosa Chapel.
The day will conclude with an outdoor showing of the Life of Mother Teresa at 7 p.m. Pork Steak dinners will be available on site 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for $10. Meal tickets are available at Acadian Religious in Lafayette or at 103 Railroad Ave., St. Martinville.
