Bond projects on school board agenda

A long list of projects being funded by proceeds from the 2009 and 2013 bond issues occupies a large portion of the three-page agenda for today’s (Wednesday) monthly meeting of the St. Martin School Board.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m. at the Administrative Office on Corporate Boulevard.
The agenda also calls for consideration of the renewal of Superintendent Dr. Lottie Beebe’s contract.
In addition to a number of routine matters, today’s agenda includes:
•Consideration of the proposed district per capita funding plan for the 2016 bond program.
•Consideration of the appointment of architects, engineers and project managers for the bond program.
•2009 and 2013 bond projects:
1) Award the contract for the St. Martinville Sr. High multipurpose indoor training facility to low bidder Acadiane Renovations in the amount of $403,580.
2) Award the contract for renovations of the Stephensville gym to ARL in the amount of $24,000.
3) Award contracts for the demolition of the old St. Martinville High building and old ELC on Church Street; and roofing projects at St. Martinville Primary and Cecilia Jr. High.
4) Authorize investigative work on the proposed new site for the Cecilia High football field to include soil borings, drainage analysis and clearing.
•At the request of board members 1) consider rescinding the purchase of property adjacent to Teche Elementary (Floyd Knott); 2) discuss cameras in bus shop (Jimmy Blanchard); 3) discuss 2016-17 budget schedule (Burton Dupuis); and 4) discuss adult GED program (Richard Potier).
•Consider appointment of Kolder, Champagne, Slaven & Co. LLC as auditors for the next three fiscal years through June 30, 2018.
•Consider request of waiver of sales tax penalties for Progressive Tractor.
•Consider resolutions 1) requesting Louisiana Attorney General to issue an opinion on the legality of incentive based supplemental pay based upon employee school attendance; 2) designating March as the Month of the Young Child.
