BOIL ADVISORY TOWN OF ARNAUDVILLE

The Town of Arnaudville had to shut-off its entire water system today, due to low water pressure caused by an unforeseeable electrical problem on the water well control system.

Because of the shut-off, the water produced by our water system will be of questionable microbiological quality when water is restored.

Therefore, as a precaution, the Town of Arnaudville is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective 9:00 AM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 for the complete water system.

This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Arnaudville water supply system.

It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water in these areas before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a tolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.

Again, please be sure to disinfect your water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.

The Town of Arnaudville will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Public Health that samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding the time and days please contact the Town of Arnaudville at (337) 754-5911.
