SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY

On Wednesday, Dec. 4, St. Martinville City Police Department received a call from a local Fast Food chain, concerning counterfeit money that was being distributed. Following an investigation into the incident, Kevin St. Julien, 41, St. Martinville, was arrested today by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office for Monetary Instrument Abuse.

Both the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and the St. Martinville Police Department have seen an increase in calls dealing with counterfeit money. Local merchants are being asked to pay close attention to the bills they might receive and to report to their local law enforcement agency any incidents where an attempt is made to use counterfeit currency.

St. Julien was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above-charge.
