St. Martinville bank robbed; suspects identified

UPDATE: Two Crowley men were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center Thursday, Jan. 29, on suspicion of first degree robbery. They were identified by the St. Martin Sheriff's Office as Kerwin Morris, 46, and Abdul Udin, 54.
St. Martinville Police Department made the arrest.
Two suspects were reportedly arrested off Cypress Island Highway shortly after the MidSouth Bank on W. Port in St. Martinville was robbed.
Meanwhile firefighters were battling a two-home blaze on St. Ann Street on the south end of St. Martinville, giving rise to suspicion that the two incidents might be related.
Witnesses said deputies wearing evidence gloves were picking up items along Cypress Highway.
The suspects, who have yet to be identified by authorities, were arrested a little over five miles from the bank.
