ST. MARTIN PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING ON JOHNSON ROAD IN BREAUX BRIDGE

Shortly before midnight Tuesday, Feb. 17, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Office responded to a complaint of someone driving erratically on Johnson Road in Breaux Bridge and a subsequent report of shots fired. When deputies arrived on scene, they were notified that one subject, who left prior to Deputies arrival, was being treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound related to the incident and was released following treatment.
During the course of the initial investigation, deputies identified and determined that one of the subjects at the scene, Andrew Granger, 20, Abbeville, was wanted by the Abbeville Police Department for two counts of attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and felon in possession of a firearm, related to an incident that occurred on Feb. 6, 2015 in Abbeville.
He was subsequently booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges.
The matter currently remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
