St. Martin narcs throw the book at Lafayette suspect

A 22-year-old Lafayette woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a long string of drug laws in Breaux Bridge Friday, Nov. 6, by deputy sheriffs investigating an illicit drug lab.
Narcotics agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, acting on information from an informant, executed a search warrant at two houses in the 900 block of W. Patin St. in Breaux Bridge. The agents reported finding a significant amount of the illegal drug methamphetamine and narcotic pills and they also discovered that both houses had laboratories set up for the manufacturing of crack cocaine.
Menchella Girouard, 22, Lafayette, was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
•Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine);
•Possession with the intent to distribute counterfeit CDS;
•Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II CDS (oxycodone);
•Possession of Schedule V CDS (liquid codeine), operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance
•Illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile;
•Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law – drug free zone;
•Possession of drug paraphernalia.
