Head-on crash kills St. Martinville, New Iberia men

A St. Martinville man was one of two drivers killed on the night of Tuesday, April 8, in a head-on crash on La. 182 in Iberia Parish, Louisiana State Police reported.

Creig Broussard, 53, of St. Martinville, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck west on La. 182 when he crossed the center line and crashed into an eastbound 2004 GMC truck driven by Brian Stockstill, 36, of New Iberia, according to Trooper 1st Class Stephen Hammons.

There were no passengers in the vehicles, Hammons said.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene by an official with the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

Toxicology samples were sent to the State Police Crime Lab to see if alcohol or narcotics were a factor in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
