2 more arrests in shooting on Russo Milazzo

Thursday morning, Sept. 4, the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force arrested a St. Martinville man in connection with the Aug. 18 home invasion and shooting Russo Milazzo Road.
Kelvin Batiste, 20, was arrested at an Apartment Complex in Baton Rouge.
Another suspect, Kee’cyric Warner, 17, New Iberia, was arrested Friday, Aug. 29, by investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Batiste and Warner were booked on suspicion of attempted first degree murder of a 34-year-old man whose identity is being withheld by authorities.
Two other persons, Kedrick Paul Broussard, 19, Carencro, and Kecyiel Maleka Warner, 18, New Iberia, were previously arrested in connection to the shooting and home invasion on Russo Milazzo Road and were also charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and they both remain in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Witnesses said three black men, one wearing a white bandana over his face, kicked in the door of a home on Russo Milazzo Road here just before midnight on Monday, Aug. 18, and shot a man inside.
The victim was airlifted to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
