Suspect surrenders

St. Martinville – Shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, Nathaniel Olivier, 27, New Iberia, turned himself in to authorities with the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office.
Olivier was the subject of a manhunt by Iberia and St. Martin law enforcement agencies after he was pursued by Iberia deputies to the Coteau Holmes area on Aug. 28, following a traffic stop in Loreauville. He abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot disappearing into a cane field.
He was subsequently booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following outstanding warrants from the Sheriff’s Office:
•Improper lane usage and aggravated flight from an officer- warrant issued on Aug. 20.
•Illegal possession of stolen things - warrant issued on Jan. 6.
Olivier also faces additional charges with the Iberia Sheriff’s Office following the Aug. 28. At the time of this release, no bond had been set.
