IN HONOR AND REMEMBRANCE

Korean War veteran Wade Watkins (right) salutes as members of the St. Martinville National Guard raised the flag on the newly dedicated flag pole located on the corner of Evangeline Boulevard and Main Street in St. Martinville. The Woodmen Life Chapter 134 held a Honor and Remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11 which also included a flag presentation to the city. Participating local elected officials, members of the Main St. Association, the St. Martinville Sr. High band, local civic clubs and organizations. Secretary David LaCerte of the Louisiana Department of Veteran’s Affairs and Col. Rob Maness USAF, Ret. were guest speakers. (Sally Angelle)
