Breaux Bridge neighborhood off-limits to trick-or-treaters

City officials are asking trick-or-treaters to stay away from the part of town where two school children were killed and a third seriously injured by a motorist Thursday morning.
A candlelight vigil has been announced for 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Judge Carl Williams Park on West Bridge Street.
Trick-or-treating parishwide was set for Thursday 6-8 p.m. to avoid conflict with Friday night football traffic.
A spokesman for Breaux Bridge Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme said Delhomme ordered trick-or-treating is canceled west of Bayou Teche, an area that includes Martin Street where the accident occurred, Alva Drive, Begnaud Street, Courville Street and Malcolm Street.
Trick-or-treating will continue on the east side of the Bayou Teche.
